Hey riders! It's Guido with a report from "Angel Tree Ride, 2013". On Saturday, September 21st, 11 bikes 15 riders and two chase vehicles took off from Vista, to deliver some good ole fashion Christmas joy.
The Calvary Chapel Vista Motorcycle Fellowship, in conjunction with the Angel Tree ministry of Calvary Chapel of Vista, teamed up once again to provide some Christmas to some needy families in the surrounding community.
Unfortunately, during this time of year, there are children of one or more incarcerated parents, who, through no fault of their own, get the "short end of the stick", when it comes to Christmas. There are also many families out there out of work and struggling just to put food on the table. As God gave us his only Son, so we imitate our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, by coming together to give to others. We were so blessed to see the looks on the faces of the children and the tears streaming down the cheeks of the parents, as we went from house to house sharing Gods blessings! What a way to celebrate Christmas!
After we delivered our goodies, our bikers participated on a short ride, before stopping at the Rainbow Oaks Cafe for some lunch. When our biker bellies were full and it was time to pay the tab, the waitress announced that an anonymous person had picked up our check for the entire group! We were amazed and thankful. We rode to bless others and God provided someone to bless us. What an amazing And loving God we serve!
Look, you don't have to be part of an organized effort to bless someone during this time of year. Sometimes helping someone in need could be no farther than someone in your own family, or the homeless person on the side of the road. "Giving" is the best way to "receive" the blessings of God!
"Unto us a son is given. Unto us a Savior is born."
On behalf of the Calvary Chapel Vista Motorcycle Fellowship, we wish you and yours a very Merry and blessed Christmas!
