Saturday, May 23, 2015 - Idyllwild
This month we will be riding to Idyllwild. If you have not yet been to to Idyllwild with the CCVMF, then mark this ride on your calendar. This ride is one of our favorites and very popular with our riders.
There are three main routes to Idyllwild. For this ride, we'll be going up the North side of Highway 243, from I-10. This is a beautiful route, with scenic vistas along the way. Once we arrive in the small community of Idyllwild, you will find several cool places to eat, followed by some great shopping at some of the local shops. Oh and don't forget those home made cinnamon rolls! In fact, that's where we usually park when we get into town.
On ride day, please meet at our Vale Terrace staging location, located at 956 Vale Terrace, in Vista. We will meet at 8:00 am, have a pre-ride briefing at 8:15 am and be on the road PROMPTLY by 8:30 am. Come gassed up and be ready to ride. Please note that per our riding and safety policies, if you have "bald" tires and are not properly dressed for the ride i.e. (no shorts, tennis shoes, DOT approved helmet), then you will not be allowed to participate. Due to liability concerns, these rules are NON-NEGOTIABLE and will be strictly enforced by our road guards.
Should our ride have to be cancelled due to weather, we will be meeting at the Rainbow Oaks Restaurant, located off the Old 395 in Rainbow at 9:00 am for breakfast and fellowship. All are welcome to join us! See you on ride day!
