Hey Riders. It's Guido the dumb Biker dude. Hey, have you ever felt distant from God? Have hardships, distractions or worldly pursuits kept you at "arms length" from the one who can give you peace, comfort and hope?
If your anything like me, the answer would be a resounding "yes".
Sometimes life kicks us in the pants and we find ourselves grasping at straws, trying to maintain some type of "normalcy", all the while paddling up stream without a paddle. So what is the answer when we feel this way. Is there a perscription we can take that will heal our physical and emotional maladies?
The answer is yes there is! The hope we can rely on through thick and thin is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
Did you know that as a believer, you have 24/7 access to all the resources of heaven. That's right, ALL THE RESOURCES! No matter what your spiritual, physicial or emotional situation is right now, all you have to do is "move closer" to Jesus. He will not only walk beside you, but will carry you when it feels like you can't walk one more step in your situation.
In 1 Peter 1:3-4 (NIV), Peter states: "In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade - kept in heaven for you".
God has given us a hope that is "rock solid" and can never be moved. Because Jesus is eternal, our hope is eternal. By his sacrfice on the cross, Jesus overcame sin and death. By believing in Jesus, we not only become "dead to sin", but "alive in Christ". By putting our faith and trust in Jesus, we not only share in his victory, but can experience that victory in our daily lives. The only kind of hope that the world has to offer is temporary at best and ends at the grave. Reach for the Living hope that is Jesus Christ! Feeling distant from God? Move closer to Jesus; taking comfort in his word. Believe me, you'll be glad you did.
