CCVMF SECOND SUNDAY INAUGURAL RIDE

Hey riders!  It's Guido with our latest ride information.  Today was our inaugural "Second Sunday" ride and boy it was a good one.  Our leadership staff was not sure how many folks would attend, but we sure were pleasantly surprised when we pulled into the parking lot!  We had eleven bikes and fifteen riders!

The weather was a great 65 degrees when we pulled out of our Vale Terrace staging location.  Pastor Dave led our ride and took the group down Gopher Canyon Road to the Old 395.  From there, we head down Deer Springs Road to Twin Oaks Valley Road and cut right through the center of San Marcos.  We rode over the hill and down again; crossing San Elijo Hills until coming to Elfin Forest Road.  The scenery was great and traffic was light.  We rode through Elfin Forest and Harmony Grove, then crossed over into Escondido, until coming to Del Dios Highway.

From there it was a great and scenic ride through The exclusive enclave of Rancho Santa Fe.  Contrary to popular opinion, the streets were not paved with gold!  The only thing we saw while riding through "The Ranch" was an unidentified male jogger wearing a tu-tu.  Now I know that sounds like a stretch, especially for old Guido, but there were several witness's to this "sighting".  From there, it was on to Solana Beach, where we stopped at a local coffee shop for a "biker break".

Now those folks down there on the coast probably have not seen a bunch of bikers in the "wild" before, cause we got some looks that reminded me of how I used to look at the gorillas at the Wild Animal Park!  But hey, it was all good and no one was pelted with bananas as we left!

We all mounted up and took the coast route, until we came to Encinitas Blvd.  From there we got on Interstate 5 and head back North to our "natural habitat".  It was important to note that no "biker animals" were injured in the making of this adventure, as all our riders arrived home safe and sound to their compounds.

We would love to have you ride with us.  Our next ride is the fourth Saturday of the month, where we will be heading to Jacumba! We hope you can join us.  Until then, ride safe and God bless you all!
