Hey Riders. It's time for a little inspirational moment. Did you know that when the nation of Israel left Egypt, it was only an eight day journey to the promised land? Yet they wandered in the desert for forty years. In fact, the original group that left Egypt died before entering the land promised to them by God. What happened? Why didn't they just trust God? They could have had it made it the shade.
Fast forward to 2011. How many of you are wandering in a desert you created? God's been knocking, but you just keep walkin in circles lookin for the promised land. Everyone has a different desert; for some it's unbelief, depression, hopelessness. for others it could be addiction; to drugs, alcohol, pornography or anything that keeps you in a dry and desolate land. You thirst and you drink, yet you are never satisfied. Some days, you feel that you'll never get out and you just want to lie down and die. What can you do?
May I suggest that you call upon the name of Jesus Christ? Ya see, Jesus died on the cross so that no matter what desert you're in, you can get out. The Regular water of this world cannot satisfy your thirst, but the "living water" that is Jesus Christ can sustain you indefinitely, giving you the strength to press on and reach the promised land, which is eternal life.
Here's the good news, it doesn't matter what you've done or how long you've been doing it, Jesus can forgive you and welcome you into his arms. He loves you more than you know. Enough to die on the cross for all of us. All you have to do is ask.
Look, your journey doesn't have to be forty years like the children of Israel, or even eight days. You can come out of the heat right now. Drink of the living water that is Jesus Christ. Bask in the "shade" of his eternal love. You'll be glad you did.
God Bless You,
Guido (Dumb biker dude and ex desert nomad)
