"We Will Never Forget"

As we approach the anniversary of the worst terrorist attack to hit the continental United States, we remember the words that have echoed through our minds for the last ten years. "We will never forget". As a career firefighter for thirty four years, this date has particular significance for me, as I watched "343" of my brother firefighters die on that day. Many of whom "knew", as they climbed the twin towers, that this would be their "last alarm".

For many of you, this great tragedy has either affected you personally through the loss of a loved one, or your heart was broken, as our fellow Americans gave their lives in the cause of freedom.

And while we must "never forget" the sacrifice of those who died on that day, let us also "never forget" the sacrifice of our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ, who died "once for all", so that we could be partakers of the gift of eternal salvation. Only he can offer a "permanent solution" to the consequences of living in a fallen world. Are you broken physically, mentally, spiritually? May I suggest now is the time to reach out for Jesus, and let him give you true joy, no matter what your circumstances.

As we approach the anniversary of 9/11/2001, let us remember those who died in the name of freedom. And Let us also "never forget" the sacrifice of the man, Jesus Christ. May God richly bless you!
