Hey riders! It's Guido the dumb biker dude with our latest ride update. Well, it was better late than never, but we finally managed to pull off our ride to Palm Desert. In case you forgot, we were rained out in 2011 and after 6 weeks of amazing weather in early 2012, we were rained out again. But this time God was good and the weather was great!
On Saturday, January 28th six bikes and nine riders braved the wind and cold and rode to Palm Desert. The forecast temps were supposed to be in the 80's but they forgot to tell us to bring cold weather gear! Anyway we sucked it up and rode on, finally hitting the desert floor, where we were blessed with warmer temps.
We rode to Shields Date Farm for some great food and fellowship. After lunch, many of our riders went shopping for some delectable date snacks! Oh yes, and some ceramic turtles. (Don't get me started, I'll save that story for another time!) Mike and Tracy ducked into the in house theater at Shields and watched the movie: "Everything you ever wanted to know about dates, but were afraid to ask".
After we all had our fill of food and laughter, we mounted up for the ride home. This was a great ride and we look forward to seeing all of you next month. Until then, keep the rubber on the road!
